About the Italian Air Force EF2000 Aircraft

The EF2000 Eurofighter Typhoon is a multi-role fighter with maturing air-to-ground capabilities, a highly agile aircraft at both supersonic and low speeds, achieved through having an intentionally relaxed stability design. It has a quadruplex digital fly-by-wire control system providing artificial stability, manual operation alone could not compensate for the inherent instability.

The aircraft employs a sophisticated and highly integrated Defensive Aids Sub-System named Praetorian formerly called EuroDASS. Praetorian monitors and responds automatically to air and surface threats, provides an all-round prioritized assessment, and can respond to multiple threats simultaneously. Threat detection methods include a Radar Warning Receiver and a Laser Warning Receive. Protective countermeasures consist of chaff, jaff and flares, an electronic countermeasures suite and a towed radar decoy.

About the Mirage 2000C Aircraft

The Mirage 2000 is a Multirole, single-engine jet fighter is manufactured by Dassault Aviation. The Mirage 2000C began her service with the French Air Force in 1983 and was designed as a lightweight fighter based on the Mirage III in the late 1970s.

The first 37 Mirage 2000Cs delivered were fitted with the Thomson-CSF RDM and were powered by the SNECMA M53-5 turbofan engine. The 38th Mirage 2000C had an upgraded SNECMA M53-5 P2 turbofan engine. The Radar Doppler Impulse built by Thales for the Mirage 2000C entered service in 1987. It has a much improved range of about 150 km, and is linked to Matra Super 530D missiles, which are much improved compared to the older Super 530F. Look-down/shoot-down capabilities are much improved as well, but this radar is not usually used for air-to-surface roles.

About the Mirage 2000-5 Aircraft

The Mirage 2000 is a Multirole, single-engine jet fighter is manufactured by Dassault Aviation. The Mirage 2000C began her service with the French Air Force in 1983 and was designed as a lightweight fighter based on the Mirage III in the late 1970s.

By the late 1980s, the Mirage 2000 was beginning to age compared with the latest models of U.S. F-16 fighters, so Thomson-CSF began work on a privately funded update of the Mirage 2000C which was to be named the Mirage 2000-5. A two-seat Mirage 2000B prototype was extensively modified as the first Mirage 2000-5 prototype, and it first flew on 24 October 1990. A Mirage 2000C prototype was also reworked to a similar standard, making its initial flight on 27 April 1991. The production aircraft entered operational service in 1997. A two-seat version was developed as well, whose rear seat has a HUD but not an associated head-level display and lacks a built-in cannon, although cannon pods can be carried.

About the Zero Fighter A6M2B Hiryu B Aircraft

The Mitsubishi A6M Zero was a long-range fighter aircraft operated by the Imperial Japanese Navy Air Service from 1940 to 1945. The A6M was designated as the Mitsubishi Navy Type 0 Carrier Fighter, and also designated as the Mitsubishi A6M Rei-sen and Mitsubishi Navy 12-ship Carrier Fighter. The A6M was usually referred to by the Allies as the Zero from the Navy Type 0 Carrier Fighter designation. The official Allied reporting name was Zeke.

The Japanese Zero Fighter Hiryu B plane was widely feared and respected by friend, foe and all who came into contact with it. A triumph of aerodynamic engineering and military science, the Zero Model 21 served in the skies across East Asia during early stages of World War II, contributing immensely to the Japanese war effort. It remains today an enduring symbol of that fierce and globe-spanning conflict.

About the German Air Force Typhoon Aircraft

The Eurofighter Typhoon is a twin-engine canard-delta wing multi-role aircraft. Designed and built by a consortium of three seperate partner companies; Alenia Aeronautica, BAE Systems, and EADS. In 1986, Eurofighter GmbH was formed. Eurofighter Typhoon was initially developed as a replacement for Tornado intended to be the next generation multi-role air dominance fighter meeting the challenges and threats air forces will face in the 21st Century. As of 2009, Eurofighter Typhoon is in service with the British Royal Air Force, the German Luftwaffe, the Italian Aeronautica Militare, the Spanish Air Force and the Austrian Air Force.

The Eurofighter is a single-seat, twin-engine, agile combat aircraft used in air-to-air, air-to-ground and tactical reconnaissance roles. It is intentionally aerodynamically unstable, which gives it its high levels of agility-but this means the Typhoon is controlled by a computerized "fly by wire" system instead of by its pilot. The Eurofighter's first rate performance is matched by excellent all round vision and by sophisticated attack, identification and defense systems and stealth technology.

About the JMSDF P3C VP-2 POS Aircraft

The Lockheed P-3 Orion is a four-engine turboprop anti-submarine and maritime surveillance aircraft developed for the United States Navy and introduced in the 1960s. Lockheed based it on the L-188 Electra commercial airliner. The aircraft is easily recognizable by its distinctive tail stinger or "MAD Boom", used for the magnetic detection of submarines.

Over the years, the aircraft has seen numerous design advancements, most notably to its electronics packages. The P-3 Orion is still in use by numerous navies and air forces around the world, primarily for maritime patrol, reconnaissance, anti-surface warfare and anti-submarine warfare. A total of 734 P-3s have been built, and by 2012, it will join the handful of military aircraft such as the Boeing B-52 Stratofortress which have served 50 years of continuous use with its original primary customer, in this case, the United States Navy. The U.S. Navy's remaining P-3C aircraft will eventually be replaced by the Boeing P-8A Poseidon.

About the Tiger Meet Mirage 2000 Aircraft

The NATO Tiger Meet Association or the Association of Tiger Squadrons was established in 1961. Promoted by French Defence minister Pierre Messmer, its role is to promote solidarity between NATO air forces. It is not, though, part of the formal NATO structure. The USAFE (United States Air Force Europe) 79th TFS (Tactical Fighter Squadron) took the initiative and on 19 July 1961 they invited No. 74 Squadron RAF and EC 1/12 Squadron of the French Armée de l'air to Woodbridge in England. France was then a full military member of NATO.

About the French Air Force Mirage Aircraft

The Dassault Mirage F-1 is a French air-superiority fighter and attack aircraft manufactured and developed by Dassault Aviation to be the successor of the Mirage III class. The Mirage F1 introduced into service in the French Air Force back in the early seventies. Powered using a single SNECMA Atar turbojet delivering about 7 tonnes-force of thrust, the F1 was utilized was a light multipurpose fighter and has been exported to significant nations. More than 700 F1s have been manufactured.

Dassault designed the Mirage F1 as a private venture, using its own funds, as a successor to its Mirage III and Mirage 5 fighters, with the F1 being a smaller version of the Mirage F2 being developed for the French Air Force. It was of similar size to the delta-winged Mirage III and V, and was powered by a SNECMA Atar 9K turbojet as used in the Dassault Mirage IV, but unlike its predecessors, it shared the layout of a swept wing mounted high on the fuselage and a conventional tail surface as used by the F2.

The aircraft uses a retractable tricycle type landing gear by Messier-Dowty, with twin nosewheels and a single wheel on each main gear. Hydraulic retraction, nosewheels rearward, main units inward. Oleo-pneumatic shock absorbers. Electrohydraulic nosewheel steering (+/-45 degrees). Manual disconnect permits the nosewheel unit to caster through 360 degrees for ground towing. The landing roll was reduced by using robust carbon brakes.
